a turbo kjet must have a blast radius of at least 5 miles when it pinks

Its an 8 injector setup with the four extra injectors run by the kstar, I used it for years and it didn't pink, and when I rebuilt the engine there was no sign of detonation anywhere.

That's why I had to get a Kstar system operational again, without it, I would have been looking at a complete new management system, a road I really didn't want to go down!

Got the front panel back on today and then made a start on the interior, got the underlay back down and then the carpets and a few bits under the dash

Got a bit more done today,

Rear strut brace back in, plastic trim found and put back and the NEW rallye leather cards in

Centre console back in and connected up, found and fitted the leather gaitor and VW Motorsport gear knob, found and fitted the handbrake trim, (also got the lower dash on the passenger side back in after this)

Corrado rear bench back in, still needs a leather treatment, sits a bit better after trying them out!

Really coming along now... You hoping to be done for this summer then?  If we get one.

I'm on no real fixed timescale, but summer would be nice! Once all the interior is sorted, its getting masked up, then I will finish the body work and get it painted, I was going to take it to a mates body shop for the top coats but I think I'm just going to do it all myself, I've bought a couple of decent spray guns so I will start with the panels and see how it goes...

I also want to take the turbo off and send it to Turbo Technics who are going to build me a new one with a new actuator and solenoid for the two stage boost.

There's still loads to do, but its getting closer!

I ordered an air DA Sander and some leather treatment last night...

Put in a few hours on the Golf today, no pictures but there are about 40 more pieces of interior trim fitted back in, still got bits everywhere!

Few more hours today, head lining back in, grab handles back in, rear view mirror back in, sun visors back in, rear seatbelts back in, rear shelves back in, and yet more plastic trim back in.

Didn't see the point in taking photos...

Cheers, not that often that I am at home so much, although I did get a bit carried away after work tonight, my new DA sander turned up so it would have been rude not to try it!

Anyway, ended up prepping one of the front wings, then flatting it with wet and dry, then painting it!

Anyway, one front wing prepped

Mixed some paint

One wing painted

One wing lacquered

Pretty pleased with the result, didn't think it was too bad for my first attempt at proper bodywork!
