Do you enjoy your job?
« on: 12 July 2011, 14:54 »
i seem to go round in circles with my job. I dont really enjoy it as such, i've just done it for so long that i seem to coast through it on a daily basis and dont really have any ambitions to go any further. Just wondering if its more important to you to enjoy what you do or just to pick up a paycheck every month?

tbh there is not a lot else i could do instead which would cover my monthly bills.

i'm an insurance broker btw....

*disclaimer - i know i'm lucky to have a job*

I like my job.
I work offshore for 2 weeks and get 3 weeks off afterwards, I like the work (boring sometimes, but usually challenging), I like not having to do any commuting, I like the fact I can spend nothing for 2 weeks if I don't want to...and I love the time off.
The wages are pretty decent too.
All in all, I'm happy doing what I do.

Reducing my Golf count by the week....
..but gaining motorcycles.

I like my job & the company i work for but have got to the point where i am looking for a new challenge as i have done 4 years here now & acheived everything i wanted to do. So always on the look out for a new challenge but not in a rush to jump ship as i said it is a very good company.

I don't enjoy my job anymore. But I am starting at a competitor on the role above mine in 2 weeks time. Just slogging through my notice atm - not interested to be here anymore.

My problem is I don't enjoy working!

I have a good job but have been with the same company for 10 years now... recently bought a house with the fiancée, getting married next year, not even going to contemplate a change for now despite being bored. (talking about the job still not the missus)

When I get pee'd off I remind myself to be thankful that I have a job, a woman, a house, two cars etc....

If you really are bored and the risk is low or you have litle responsibilities, get out there and do something else, a change is as good as a rest.

I really enjoy my job....which has just under 10 months before ending! I always knew the credit crunch was going to get me at some point!  (the bank I work for apparantly started the doom if you listen to some!)

I have an interview elsewhere very soon and luckily it's the banco which scores really really bad with customer service, so I may fit well in?  :lipsrsealed:

I'm at the point where I wake up in the morning and have that sinking feeling cos I really dont want to go to work.
Always very challenging, and different but still when you work your bollox off for the last 3 years on one particular ship, volunteer to go onto other ships that are doing sea training and get chuck ups from them, pass senior rates command course when others have failed, your boss still takes all the credit even though have been covering for all his inadiquacies, and get left out for promotion as the blue eyed boy who follows you round everywhere as he knows feck all. Kind of gives you a bleak outlook on the whole thing so you think whats the point! Oh I did get a skippers commendation as another line manager knows the score and puts you in for it, and on the certificate your name is spelt wrong. Sums it all up really.
