Another nail in the private buyers choice, these cars are now far too expensive for what they are.

Pays to keep what you've got, if you've looked after it.

only took 2000+ posts for me to finally agree with something you have said!!

Where did £40 come from? More like £200 surely? Mind you I failed maths....

Yep £194....damn it, cheers Exonian.  Still not excessive in today's 5% inflation or there-abouts, that's a trip to Scotland then.

That is probably to cover the rental car costs for when they take longer than 16 weeks to build something.

Was doing a bit of home filling earlier and came accross the paper work from when I brought my GTI in Dec 10. I paid the dealer £25,950 for my x-demo GTI which had 5k on it. I've always thought I'd paid more than that for it tbo. I reckon and probably have to spend a lot more than that now for a second hand one with the level of spec I've got on mine. Will be priced out from buying one in the future at this rate

Seat here we come!

LOL

A five door GTI DSG like yours is now about £27000 before extras. The demo my mate was looking at would have a list price of over £32k with the extras on it and doesn't even have Nav. Not bad eh?  I expect yours would have listed around about that price when new.

SHOCK, HORROR, READ ALL ABOUT IT, READ ALL ABOUT IT!
Due to unacceptable price increases there will be too few Mk7 GTI customers and therefore no supporting Forum for them.

Due to the continuous moaning about our fair price policy mk7 GTI will not be sold in UK

The OTR prices would look much more palatable if VAT came down to a reasonable level - 20% is taking the p***.
