So I started today with a very dirty car:

I refitted the rear wiper, however the washer isn't working! Instead the water drips underneath the rear bumper so that needs to be investigated!

I also refitted the engine covers:

And finally gave the car a clean; snowfoam, chemical guys shampoo, menzerna final finish polish, dodo juice lime prime lite and collinite 456s wax

take the boot panel off the inside and you will prob find that the pipe has poped off. does it in the when the water freezes aswel, i put a tie wrap round it and it sorted it. also get your self a mk5 rear areo wiper for bowt £20 of ebay look loads better

Rear wiper is only on over winter so the Mk4 one will do for now! I had the boot panel off earlier when refitting the wiper and I'm pretty sure the leak is under the headlining somewhere :undecided:

Looks great Dom :afro:

Cheers

Whats getting you excited? The headlights?

A mock up of the strut brace to see how it looks...won't get getting fitted for a while yet though. I need to get the engine bay tidied up so I can run without the engine cover before the brace goes on:

I also bit the bullet earlier and ordered some winter tyres, ordered some Toyo SnowProx S952 so I'll get them fitted sometime next month if/when the temperature drops

I also had a nice reminder through last week that my tax expires at the end of the month so that was another expense this morning

That has put an end to any plans for mods until November's pay day

Ticked over another milestone earlier:

That makes 5k miles in 3 months, and it was in the bodyshop for 3 weeks of that

Heading down to Carbon tomorrow for some boost leak hunting so that'll add another 300 miles or so onto the clock

After recent events I've really been thinking about chopping the Mk4 in for another Mk3...however I'm going to persevere for a bit longer. I'm going to save hard for some nice coilovers & I think once the car is lower it will make a massive difference to how it looks.

I'll let the Carbon boys work their magic during half term week and hopefully it'll be back to full power. I'm expecting a boost leak tbh, so silicone hoses will be ordered if that is the diagnosis.

In the mean time the rear badge has been bugging me a little, I didn't really like it sprayed black & talking to a few others it was obviously letting the rear of the car down. I was going to upgrade to a Sharan badge but cannot justify spending £25 on a badge at the moment. I had some spare carbon wrap lying around and after speaking to Will (Billabong) at the RR day yesterday I decided to try and wrap the badge:

Really like your rear badge dom. Have been planning on doing exactly the same to mine for some time now but you beat me to it. Oh well i'll just copy! I've done my front badge but struggled to make a nice job of bending it around the ouside of the badge without creasing. Gonna have to redo. Any tips?

Quite happy with how it turned out & think it looks better than it did painted:

Am thinking about doing the same with 'Golf' & 'Gti' now :undecided:
