No they won't, especially since they didn't know it even existed.

if it goes to a garage for repair, they will just take off the valance whats on it and replace with the same, they will just take the part number on the valance, how are the insurance company not to know it was factory fitted as an extra, its not like your running some stupid max power item that looks stupid

Yeah it does, its obscured by paint but they'll be able to make it out....I guess insurance is the way forwards.

I went all the way over it at about 30mph & it made a hell of a noise under the car so I guess the underside needs to be checked as well really  :undecided:

If your claiming of the other parties insurance you can also take your car to which ever garage you like I did this and had my car repaired by a friend who fitted what parts I wanted which at the time was a de badged grill clear indicators and some extra paint work the car was fixed and the insurance company only looked at the car once and they wasnt intrested where the parts came from and if there genuine etc they just pay for the job to be done.

Sucks to hear mate, you did such a good paint job too!

This. The insurance company will just get a bill. On some third party claims they won't even look at it. I have a feeling cause this will be fairly low cost on the face of things, they won't and will write out a cheque if you get a bodywork quote.

Take it into a garage of your choice. :)

You can have a proper modified car all undeclared be crashed into and will still get a payout, you aren't paying their insurance company for the mods, it makes no difference to them, they hit it they fix it basically.

Where all my moneys went.

Golf MK3 1.6. Golf MK3 8v GTI.
