Help save an Anniversary - VW Golf lover wanted
« on: 09 July 2011, 12:55 »
Hi All,

was on 3 weeks ago or so regarding selling my 1996 8v Golf Gti anniversary, was waiting on private plate transfer before selling, was looking for around £500 as it needs some work done to it. Had agreed 450 with few people who were coming to see it however some bastard who viewed it the other night decided to come back and brick the drivers window so i'm done with it now, looking for quick sale or scrap yards it is tommorow so if anyones interested let me know, been offered £220 by local scrappy. seel advert below and pics

8V Golf GTI Anniversary, based in Glasgow, 112,900 miles, ive had car for near 11 years, mot till december and taxed until end august.
usual anni features, checkered interier, airbags, air con, smoked headlights and foglights, power steering, silver dials, anni gear knob, 3rd breraklight etc etc. it has a jvc chameleon head unit, 16  INCH BBS Alloys, red seat belts.

the reason the car was originally on for only £500 is because it needs some faults fixed, see below.

main fault, reverse gear is fecked, barley works now, reverse idler missing a tooth, will need looked at possible recon.
passenger door barrel needs replaced
latch on glove box broken,
rear demister dosnt work, new swith/relay needed
power steering belt needs tightened, squeels a bit at full lock, its happened twice in the 11 years ive had it and this has fixed it
passenger side foglight not working
alloys could do with powder coating, (15 years old mind you)
obviosuly now has drivers front window smashed, £160 for autoglass to come out and fix, obviously getting one from scrappy is way to go)

i think the car with some tlc could do someone well, body works fine, no dents, couple miner bits of rust, few wee scratches but not bad for age of car. engine runs fine. (recently had rear wheel bearings done, new callipers all round, 2 new front tyres and new fuel tank.

if anyones interested let me know, make me an offer higher than £220,  would be a shame for it to be scrapped (private plates now transferred, new reg is P594 TNS

cheers

Why dont you break it (although would be a shame) wheels and tyres alone have got to be worth £200.

Why would someone come back and smash your window?

i know, just havnt got the room, its in my brothers driveway the now off the road cause it uninsured. would make a good bit of money.

mate i dont know why, no normal person does that, guy was bit of a chav tho,  i think cause they knew the house was empty they came back once i'd left thought they could maybe steel the car or get in the house, i think they thought i left the house keys to my bro's  in the golf, 2 audis in the drive also so they coulda had field day scumbags. (i aint that stupid though.
