« on: 09 July 2011, 01:48 »
morning all,

got a very strange problem every time i put the full beams on it causes the idle control valve to full open and stays open until you turn them off :/ its not opening because the engine is about to stall it's strange.

Not one ive heard of before. but sounds like it may be an earthing issue, check all body to engine earthing points, that they are clean and tight

This sounds like an alternator problem to me or even a battery problem as the full beams use a sh!t load of amps in comparasion to standard dipped. Check the voltage of the battery with the engine off then see what it is when the engine is running, then flip the full beams on and check the voltage again. If the voltage drops loads then your alternator could be shot.

Worth a check but I could be completely wrong
