Window problem
« on: 08 July 2011, 09:15 »
My drivers window has been playing up lately and so been having a look over some old threads about broken windows.  It seems the clips are an issue but the window has not dropped and it still mostly works.

The problem is that it seems to come a little out of place on the back (straight) edge, especially when it gets closer to the top of close position.  I then have to give it a little push back into the rubber, it only moves out of it by about 1cm or in fact less.

Hope this makes sense and does anybody have a suggestion?

it also makes a little noise half way on the way up and sometimes stops and starts to go back down again

sounds like one of the window clips are broken. you can get a kit with new clips/cables on the runners of ebay for £40 takes about an hour to fit. or wait for the other clip to break and end up driving around like this

This job is next on my list to do.  I found the driver's side ones are the original plastic and I'm not leaving it to chance for them to fail on me.
