mk2 golf 8v digi - timing marks
« on: 07 July 2011, 17:31 »
Hi guys got a mk2 8v digi, done the head on it and mate having problems lining up the timing marks,

the car has been tuned to the guide on here for setting timeing, so does that affect the way the timing marks are shown on the pullys?

thanks

No, pulley marks should all line up. Are you sure you're not 180degrees out? Double check the tdc by putting a screwdriver (or similar) down the spark plug hole of no. 1 cylinder. Check the cam lobes on no. 1 are both pointing up in the air. Most accurate tdc mark is on the flywheel so use that if you can.

think we got it now, using the tdc mark in gearbox, engine turns by hand ok but will double check everything b4 starting her up :)
