Steering column assembly
« on: 06 July 2011, 18:54 »
I'm a bit confused here...

I think I've re-assembled my steering column correctly but when I insert the spring behind the spline adapter I can't get the steering wheel on far enough to reach the horn contact.

Have I assembled the steering column in this order:

Steering column outer tube
Steering lock
Rubber bush between bearing and inner
Indicator/wiper stalks
Spring
Spline adapter
steering wheel
washer
nut.

Correct?

sounds like the spline adaptor hasn't gone on far enough... Did you take it off in the 1st place?

on the steering column case there is a bit of metal that stick out, make sure it has fully inserted into the lock case
