All, let me respond.
The vast majority of Mk6 drivers (i.e. those on here) aren't teenagers any longer, apart from me (well, at least in my head) ! And so have a different sense of humour to those younger and older.
I'm sure the initial response was meant in a sarcastic manner, but the recipient didn't realise this at the time.
All the same, we here are a little sarcastic but have our own ways (due to old age, ahem Asker, Doc etc 
!!!)
But we all mean well, you simply have to 'read through the lines'. I think that our Doc meant that it may affect your re-sale value....maybe?Personally, I have a white GiT but wouldn't do a black roof, but would do it on a white R (as the wing mirror shells are also black) and also would replace the black aerial with a white one (or spray it)....
But not a bad idea, I haven't seen it in the flesh yet

No, Doc knew what was going to happen to the thread so just pre-empted it with a bit of humour.
True, we know that, but I was trying to be polite and diplomatic. Think I'll revert to my normal sarcastic self !!!

Yeah, stick to basics, it works far better round here.
Humour goes over everyone's heads, banter turns into war, mods have to tread on egg shells and every so often we end up with a marriage breakdown....
