We're lucky enough to live in the sticks, so virually every journey is unhindered, therefore good for fuel consumption as long as we avoid the rush ten minutes in the morning and afternoon.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

Just had a jaunt up to the Orkney Islands this weekend in the GTD. Filled the tank before I left on the way up, then got off the ferry today and just wanted to get home.

I was going to stop for fuel but kept going, thinking I'll stop at the next one, so now I'm showing 640 miles on the trip, and a range of 0 miles showed for the last 30 miles home. Fuel needle is below the line and wondering if I will make it to the fuel station tomorrow

Anyone else ever try to see how low you can go?

Its always a good game, but peeps remember that the law might/could do you for it. Enough of my sensible head.....
.....I gave it a go on the M1 and got a further 15 miles after the 0 trip but then chickened out !!

I've had an extra 50 miles out the Audi, think it arrived at the petrol station on but mere vapors of diesel.

Did a splat on the continent this weekend, some speeds well in excess of 90mph and still over 48mpg, can;t wait to get the Golf.

Red's right though, can get you into trouble!

Once saw a a matrix display with "Check your fuel" just seconds before a corner on the A42 before I see a guy walking up the off ramp with a petrol can walking away from his car.  Guess he knew it might happen, who else carries a petrol can in their boot?!?

not sure how many miles you can actually get after the range hits zero... but i once left it at the dealers with 0miles on the display to find out.

3 days later I collected the car... and surprise surprise they hadnt put any fuel in. It hiccuped on start up (so i got one of them to follow me to the petrol station 2 miles away) I made it.... although the car hiccuped its last breath as we pulled onto the forecourt. I dont think you can get any closer than that.
