Best way to remove badges

Would like to remove my GTI and GOLF badges on the motor...any good tekkers I should be aware of?

Hot water and old credit card, or hair dryer and thin wire.  if the car is a few years old you may need cutting paste for the exposed paints fade.

I did mine yesterday, all I did was to work fishing line behind the badge to cut the adhesive then clean off with meths afterwards.

I used the hot water/credit card/patience combo on my old golf.

Dont try to clear off any left over adhesive with a green side of a dish sponge though!  :drool:

I used hot water from the kettle and then worked dental floss around back of badges and they came off nicely... There was some glue left on the paintwork so i used white spirits and gently rubbed with a small sponge and the job was done.  :smiley:

hot dairdryer and dental floss!  :grin:  and then get blisters on your fingers as you rub the residue off...all good fun, but worth it...will be doing mine tomorrow if the weather is any good.

nearly but easier way

plastic card scraper, bank card (or Ni Card) will do fine *** dont use Drivers licence you may break it and nobody likes shelling out 20 notes for a new one

and then to get the sticky off use a rubber toffee wheel (found in all good halfrauds) put that on the drill werrrrrrr it away... **dont be too rough it can take paint off but if your sensible its fine


the toffee wheel was standard issue when i worked at romford and essex accident repair as a technician
