Hello all from Dundee
« on: 04 July 2011, 01:43 »
Hi there,

I'm Scott 29, from just outside Dundee.

Don't have a GTi as off yet but i think i'm going to be looking in the new year for a Mk2. Currently got an RS and an E46 325Ci but the BM is just for the motorway miles i'll be doing at the end of the year between Glasgow and home. Then i'll be looking to sell it and have something a bit cheaper to run and also have as a good project car
Just been reading the buyers guides on here and they have been helpful...seems like rust is the big thing to look out for.

Tried doing a search but to no avail on what should i do first to cars maintenance wise...is it just a case of giving them a good service (which i normally do when i buy a car) or is there anything in particular that yous can recommend i would change or investigate straight away?

Love looking through the project cars at the moment...giving me some great inspiration as to what i can do

Regards Scott

Cheers for that gives me more to read and gen up on

I think when i come to look at cars i'm not too fussed on 8v or 16v, think i'm just going to try and get the best body i can and go from there. Although does seem to be a distinct lack of them for sale north of the border
