tbh it feels like a totally new car. old engine must have been loose and rattled about a fair bit!!

 yep.. picked it up this afternoon!!

feels alot better may I add!! have to run it in again though  

not sure if my map will go back on either

Yes.... which is why it would be rude to drive it without the map!!   

Have a word with the guys that installed the map, they should be able to re do it, its on the ecu not the engine ?

Congratulations. That was quick. They probably had a new engine waiting for you all the time.
Don't bother running it in. Why change the habit of a lifetime. Go on, rev it to death red. It will be interesting to find out if it will last the remainder of the lease period.
On a serious note, I kept my revs below 4000 rpm for the first 1000 miles, then changed the oil + filter and canned it. But as you don't have this grace period, can it from tomorrow! It'll go BOOM! for the next owner. So what?

its roughly the same size as the GTI, has 5 doors, is quicker than the GTI... ??  any guesses
