Actually that's dirt cheap for a Chrome Edition Golf Country - you could try finding one in Europe for that money, they start at 6990 Euros at the moment.  Here's an example:

In better condition, but hey - it's an appreciating classic (weird I know).

Hell, base Syncro Golf2s now seem to start from just under a thousand Euros in mainland Europe now.
