My new "modified" inerior!
« on: 02 July 2011, 15:03 »
Since I got my car I've hated the half black half sh!tty beige interior. Over the last week I had the a,b,c pillars out n painted them black! Well impressed with how they turned out!
I also covered my head lining with black felt that sets it all of just nice!
Now just need to source some black sun visors, black interior light and black grab handles to finish it all off.

Pictures a bit poop but what u guy think?!

Quite easy to be honest! Sand it down, Upol plastic primer, the hammerite satin black! That stuff sticks to anything! Taken a hour or so each night, n left it in the shed over night then throughout the day n cos it's been so hot the shed turned into a makeshift oven so the paints got a good finish on it.

That looks good :D

I've been wondering about doing the same with mine at some poiny, in my case I was going to use this stuff called Brillo Spray-On Plastic Dye (nothing to do with brillo pads as far as I can see) and this american carpet/upholstery spray on black dye.

Dont know how it would turn out mind, too much bodywork stuff to get done to even think about the interior just atm.

Chief :)

Looks great, a massive improvement :afro:

Going off on a bit of a tangent here so bear with me....you've described it as a modified interior which got me thinking.....when you make changes like this to the interior is it actually classed as a modification? I.e. should you notify your insurance company? :undecided:

Feck knows why I just thought of that

That looks really good been meaning to do something simlar myself I was thinking Black pilars with a red head lining  but Ive fell out off love with my mk3 and cant be arsed now  As for the insurance cant see why you would need to even mention it only a colour change.
