MAF Troubles
« on: 01 July 2011, 17:42 »
Hi All,

I've been having trouble with my MAF for a while now, have been getting the below code:-

16486 -  Mass Air Flow Sensor (G70): Signal too Low

        P0102 - 35-10 -   - - Intermittent

I tried cleaning it but didn't seem to work so went out and bought a new bosch one from GSF, After fitting said new MAF and doing a general service all at the same time i developed a severe misfire that would occur randomly when driving and sometimes the car would cut out. After a couple of months trying to figure out what was causing this it ended up being the said new MAF i had bought from GSF!!!

So after taking it back to GSF and getting a new one which i had to pay for while they sent the other one off for testing ive finally got my money back for the second MAF. I suspect the first one i got had a dry solder joint or something, pretty unlucky anyway, I think that it was a faulty one that someone had exchanged but somehow ended up back on the shelf.

Anyway now the car no longer has the misfire, but I'm still getting the above fault code. Could this be wiring?? surely i cant have been given another duff MAF??

What do you guys think? I could really do with logging the MAF values but only have VCDS lite, does anyone know where i can get the full version from?

Thanks in advance
