BASTEWARD WINDOW REG CLIPS!!!
« on: 08 April 2005, 16:42 »
Can any one give me a link on how to change the window reg clips?
I know its been posted on here before, can't find it.

Flippin was in London yesterday, it was 5.30pm, opened the window to let some fresh air in and the flippin clip broke and my window was at an angle...so lifted it to straighten it out and the f@ckin thing came of in my hands, so had to let it go and let it drop in the door. Went back to my mates house, by this time, nothing was open so couldn't get them from anywhere. We took the door card off, then that metal sheet (flippin how many nuts??) and shoved 3 pieces of wood to stop the window coming down. Then drove all the way back to Leicester!!

Went to a local breaker today and they had a clip spare, so going to try and fit it tommorow. Also went to the stealers first and thay only sell the whole thing which is around £50-60. Not paying that much!!!! Its only a flippin clip worth 50p. Would really prefer some of those metal ones. Does anybody know where I can get them from and how much??

Cheers.

The window reg clips bust on my front passenger side door of my 5 door GTi. I got the repair kit from a VW dealer for £32.59 inc the VAT. The part number was 1JM898461 and the description is, funnily enough, 'Repair Kit'. The kit contains metal clips instead of the crap plastic ones, new cables and some other bit I can't remember. I needed to take the door lock mechanism off though when I was replacining the mehcnism.
Hope that helps you?
