Xenons bulbs, MK5 GTi

Took out the bulb today and it came out with a small black/red box and doesn't seem to go back in? The wire also disconnected and now the xenon lights don't seem to work? Any ideas what's the problem? Do I have to replace the whole xenon unit?

there is many guides on t'interweb.

to remove the red boc the wiring needs to be unplugged. Then i think it's a twist
lock or soemthing
