This is the copy of part of a post about Warranty's Direct and HJ trying to justify their report. Never mind they are one of his site sponsors. But just check out the moderator Mark RLBS comment - IT IS UNBELIEVABLE. Words fail me for how much of t** this bloke is:

Okay, I had a meeting with Duncan McClure Fisher this morning. I even braved the impenetrable Reading one-way system to get to him and by trusting his directions I arrived both unscathed and non-wrong-slotted which tesfifies that the man gets things right.
Warranty Direct offers off-the-shelf warranties. When something goes wrong with a warranted car, Warranty Direct has to shell out. In my opinion, that puts Warranty Direct in a much better position to rate the reliablility of cars than ownership surveys.
Warranty Direct stats show average mileage, average age, average hours spent repairing, maximum labour rate for the marque and an index based on these plus the cost of parts.
So though it does not provide a 'reliablility index' in the sense of how often a car breaks down, it does provide one based on the average cost of cars breaking down.
That's why Jeep and Subaru are at the bottom and Skoda and SEAT are at the top.
Soon I'll be updating the car by car breakdown to show the latest Warranty Direct 'reliability index' findings.

HJ,
I'm sorry to have to question your right to post on your own website, but don't you have a commercial interest in Warranty Direct by virtue of their advertisement on this site?

There is no question of HJ's right to post whatever he feels like posting. You do have the right not to read it.
HJ always represents honestly what he is posting, writing or reporting so I don't understand your objection.
I will remove this answer and your question in a little while as being totally inappropriate for the Backroom.
By all means e-mail HJ on letters@honestjohn.co.uk if you wish to discuss it further or make anyother points.
