Difference between genuine and fake monza II's?
« on: 25 June 2011, 16:13 »
Just wondering as I just bought a Gti which has 18" monza's, they have apparently been refurbed in he past. Cleaning them for the first time today and 3 of them have an angular lip and one has a rounded lip if that makes sense.
Apparently the one with the rounded lip has been refurbed more recently so didn't know if they had refurbed it rounding the lip or it's actually been swapped out for a fake?

Cheers,

Mat

Need to take the wheel off and look at the markings

Originals are ET52 or something like that.  Fakes are ET45; mate of mine bought a set of reps and they are ET45  :nerd:

You are right mate ! And you do make sense !!! The copy ones are more of a straight angle around, and the real monza do have a more round edge ( grey or black insert bit ) if that makes sense !! Or just take one wheel off, and check for the markings on the inside !!!! Deano lfc
