I've decided to splash out on a set of BBS CS5 in polished anthracite, think they will look nice with the deep black of my GTI.

They'd be the ones I'd be getting if I was to change

Adrian my dear chap. Don't confuse Amanda. Her black Bonnie will look best with Silver CS-5s. The Anthracite ones will look odd IMO.

Gizzy my Yorkshire rose. Listen to me, at least for Bonnie's sake, and she will be the perfect BBS babe on these silver Jimmy Chews.
With either Anthacite or Black as background spokes, your wheels will appear to have only 5 spokes. The whole idea of getting CS-5s is to flaunt that amazing spoke fest.

FFS I don't want to be held responsible for you losing your beauty sleep  I'd love to see a set of the silver and anthracite on a mk6 then I can make a sensible decision.

Just checked this about the BBS Silver CK-5 alloys. All the spokes are painted in the same manner but the design is such that the inner spokes look darker due to the shadow effect.
On a black or silver car, and IMO for any car colour, the anthracite inner spokes will look too dark. This seems to be the general impression I have gathered from a couple of alloy sellers.

as asker said.. made into a sticky to warn people off the GTI and on to the GTD. Should also help keep residuals low as less people will buy the GTI now
