Damn. Even I would be interested in a Mk1 or Mk2 GTI. Such nostalgia. I owned these in red in my days of youth and thunder. They were so light and compact when compared to the lards we drive today.

You know what, I am beginning to think Hurdy has got the right idea in getting a Polo GTI and modding it.  :smiley:

You know it makes sense :smug:

After reading that, I am now sure I am pretty sane.  :smug:
You should have been a bit more forthright and got his details. Imagine if Geoff was in your place? The mind boggles.  :laugh:

I have first dips on an oettinger Mk1 GTI if it ever comes up for sale and its the only other car that i would now want to add to my fleet.

I found the polo a dull, borring, detached modern heavy euro box to drive with little real feeling compared to cars like my mk1, mk2 and mini. Been auto just made the experience worse. I also hope they have sorted the panel fit and paint out as we have never seen a transporter full of cars such bad even a fiat DST/PDIer comented they were a discrace. Modding it imo is just going to make it ride worse (its not great anyway imo) and the engine more fragile(not got the best rep to start with). Each to there own but we looked at both the Polo GTI and ibiza cupra and decided against them.

@Jim:
Did you get on-car pictures from Performance Alloys for the CS-5 Anthracites? You can also Google for pictures.
The burning question is: Are you going to buy these wheels?

Still no pictures, Google didn't find any either! I'm taking a moment to think about the wheels, I'm now in two minds about which ones....
