Toyos get a pretty good rap from most people. Just bought the Eagle F1s for mine- apparently wear a little longer, but I don't get the impression there's much in it apart from cost. Money= quality?

i was advised against toyo's when i went to get some, and for the same money i got bf goodrich which so far have been awesome!!! the guys at the tyre place have a fine collection of fast cars so i'd trust them. they all said toyo's are sold on supposed performance but aren't as good as others in the price range. its just one of those brands peole think are better than they are!!

managed to get four 205/40/17 toyo's (t1-r maybe? replacement for t1-s?) on the mighty ebay for 200 quid
the rallye munched the previous front 2 in something stupid like about 8k but the tracking was found to be miles out!
the tread pattern def looks good if you are into that sort of thing and they have the rim protector edge which may help.

I've got toyo ts-1s all round on the VR6. The grip is very good, dry and wet, but the fronts are wearing away at an alarming rate! I'll be very, very lucky to see 10k miles from them.
I would certainly recommend them handling and grip wise though.

1 have 15" wheels 7.5 and a horrible fat profile! but that doesn't rub on eth mk2 without the arches rolled, but teh suspension is set hard if soft them teh plastic outer arch scrapes on eth wheel. 195/45 I think but will have to check
