Little update. Pics to be added soon

As the weather has worsened the bodywork has stopped now so ive just been scouring the sale ads on the forums and ebay seeing what bits take my fancy.

Ebay came up trumps last week with a genuine US R32 front bumper complete with side markers and the proper looms. Quick email to the guy selling and a deal was done. Went over to near Chester one night last week to pick it up.

The next night i managed to meet up with my mate whos mega busy at the minute. He had finished powder coating my Land Rover wheels. He sent me a teaser pic over a few days earlier and i wasnt too sure on the colour. When i met up with him all my worries were put to rest as they look really good. Hes done a top job even though hes had a nightmare with the casting on 2 of the wheels.

Then i also saw an ad for a lad breaking a 1.8T in Chester (had been messaging loads of people advertsing theirs to find out the cars were wrong for what i needed). Struck a deal for the car loom, engine loom, ecu, clocks, keys, scuttle panel, and slam panel off his car. Went to have a check today that it was right for me and bingo!!! Perfect for what i need so im made up.

Get christmas out of the way and more progress should start happening now...... Finally!!

Ok so heres the pics.....

Firstly the bumper i bought. These are the pics off the ad. I havent had chance to do anything other than put it in the garage for now.

Little bit of damage on the bottom towards the passenger side, but easily fixed

Now the bit ive been waiting for, for ages.

My mate sent me this teaser pic off his phone last week and i wasnt 100% sure on the colour. It looked a little like the hyper silver you can get wheels in which to me looks too much like its trying to be chrome.

Went to his house to pick them up off him and get my first proper look at them. Well i was wrong and tit must have just been the light in the picture because they looked ok in the metal.

And with the centre cap placed on top

Today was another good day for me.

Had been emailing/texting back and forth with andyj775 whose breaking his 1.8T, he lives pretty close to me and as ive been after an immo 2 loom and ecu for ages i messaged him about his, after messaging loads of people to find out they werent right for me.

Anyhow on Saturday i drove over and had a look and yes it was immo 2 so a deal was struck for me to take the entire car loom, engine loom, ecu, clocks, and keys from his car along with the scuttle and slam panels which i also needed.

Had arranged to go over tomorrow to help with getting the loom out, but today was at a loose end so as i knew he was going to be down there stripping the car i drove over and in about 4 hours we gutted the interior fully and manged to get the full loom out intact. I also ended up walking away with the floor carpets and sound deadening which is in better condition than my own.

Im well happy with what i paid, and i hope Andy is happy with what he got for the bits??  top guy!!

Now i just need a bit of better weather now to actually press on with this project as there is absolutely no spare room in my garage now to even consider doing anything in there

Finally a bit of an update.....

Picked these up today

The bolts that have been pressed into them arent big enough and the land rover wheels nuts can just push onto these bolts. Going to have to get this sorted obviously, but i placed the wheels onto the adaptors and think i have pretty much got the fitment im looking for.

Although while im getting the bolts swapped out for the right sized ones i MAY get 2mm machined off these (havent tried the fronts yet so not sure about the fitment there yet).

Anyway heres the side views

From those angles the fitment looks to be the same as the mercedes wheels at the rear, but think the angles of the pictures may be misleading, just not sure

Going to look pretty smart with the landy wheels on.... was going to say I thought those threads on the adapters look a little a short.  Easily changed?

The threads arent short, as the design of the land rover wheel nuts mean they sit into the wheel quite a bit anyway, the studs were M14 thread where the wheel nuts i got with the wheels were M16 thread.

Turns out the wheel nuts were wrong and i picked some replacements up today for a steal, so all is good again and i can look at properly getting the wheels mounted soon
