judder under braking
« on: 23 June 2011, 17:29 »
my car has recently started to judder under medium braking, felt through the steering.
also sometimes under harsh acceleration.
i gave it a jack up at the front and checked for play, with one hand at the top and one at the bottom of the tyre, there is a slight amount of play (not sure if this is normal or not) any ideas?

also a different problem not related to this,

when cruising around theres a bit of a knock when going over small bumps in the road.

thanks

when the front wheel is off the ground, you move the top in and the bottom out, and vice versa.

Yes, what i meant was where is the movement, is it is the wheel itself, or is the suspension moving?

Any significant suspension wear could cause it yes.
