99' GTI 1.8t (150)

Seriously thinking about buying one of these, but have heard bad things about them.

I don't have a huge budget , so my choice is quite limited to.

What do you guys in here think about this MK4?

Buy it,can't go wrong with the agu engine.
Had mine for over 3 years now and had only miner problems.

Main thing to check is cam belt and water pump have been replaced.

Well, I went for it and just brought it. £1400.

I think it was a good deal! Going to get it this weekend.

Just sorting out insurance now. It says when I enter the car details in that it is only 125bhp though? When I thought it would be the 150 version at it said that on the ebay link.

But it comes up like this on the quote ;

Vehicle Description:   1999S Volkswagen Golf Gti (125BHP), 1781CC Petrol, 5DR, Manual

Came up as a turbo when I checked. Maybe its a problem with the insurance company's database?
