Removing Plastic Strip along door.

How is it held on?

I have a mk2 8v and it has large black plastic strips along the doors, just wondering if it comes off?

Also the red strip above that (sticker) i need to remove that as i no long have red on my car, ive tried boiling water but it isnt working well, seems to get stuck under the plastic strip and doesnt come off because of this!

Cos some are clippy things and the ones on my old car they where kind sticky back plastic on, i think....

think you just pull them off like the 90 spec golf ones.

just carefuly spray the red bits black maybe?

Its the red sticker so wont spray it as ive already got some of it off, but not much lol

you could try the evo glue remover stuff (very potent, dont do what i did and not use any ventalation.... ) that might help toi ease it off and i dont think it will mess ya paint up, dont hold me to that tho
