Another big fat car for big fat people to carry their big fat wallets around in and then get stuck down a thin lane because they can't look down to find reverse because of their big fat neck

Another car for those people who bothered to work hard and get decent jobs, who didn't waste their time, only able to afford a MK3...

Bit harsh, some of us work hard but don't always get the breaks we deserve. I've been made redundant 3 times and each time had to start my career from scratch.

I'm a large advocate that you make your own future in life, but you have to work to be in the right place for that moment of luck where it all goes your way.

Unless of course your a girl and you can batter your eyelids at the right guy and do lots of Naughty Stuff.

I work 60 hours a week , my wife works full time too but we spend most of our money on our house and kids, if i really wanted a new car i'd have one but i don't see the point and i like my mk3 very much.
I'm not a militant socialist and i don't begrudge anyone who needs a 4x4 from owning one but most are owned by posers with orange skin and no sense of humour
My point with this is that the world is beginning to run low on stocks of oil and petroleum, i don't believe we should all start buying prius's but we need to stop this obsession with 4x4's and so called lifestyle suv's which are so wasteful and pointless, most people i know who actually need a 4x4 drive old landies and fourtracks and it's got absolutely nothing to do with how hard they work, most of them could easily afford one of these new range rovers but they know that it would be useless when up to it's axles in s**t or towing a 3 ton horsebox. it's a fad but it's such a stupid fad given the remaining resources this planet has left.

Live life how you wanna live it. If you got the money, and want to spend it on a car... do it. Why dont you say people should stop buying GTIs? They dont have great MPG, but they love their car...

Any GTi will always do better mpg than any chelsea tractor, and i'm not saying they don't love their cars, i'm here BECAUSE i love my car, someone on the forum was saying that the price of 4motion golfs is very high these days and i think thats down to some bad winters and people thinking that the 4motion is a good compromise to keep mobile in bad conditions , it's a far more intelligent solution than 2 tons of unnecessary heavy machinery.

Peoples tastes evolve, you could argue that a smartphone is over kill and killing the planet as you have to recharge them so much, when you could have a standard black and white phone.

I agree, that they are pointless in many scenarios, but then again, its pointless having a GTI when you could have a 1.2 and get from A to B just as easily.
