Glen, you say the Audi is dull, but you also say you wish you hadn't sold it, as it was the best road car you ever had???

It made a perfect everyday car, comfortable, refined, fast, good handling, no drama way of getting from A to B daily with little effort, in all weathers. A perfect daily driver.

But, it was no thrilling drive...if I still had it, I'd have something silly for the weekends.

My S3 was bloody quick...but you got out at the end of a challenging drive and thought 'was that it'...and I wanted something a little more challenging...so I sold it for the C4S.

It's a hobby.
It keeps me busy on my 3 weeks off, keeps me out of the pub, and stops me spending silly money tuning new, expensive cars!
Despite that, I still managed to spend well over £6k on bits for the Mk6...most of them before I'd even collected the damn car.
But that's it now...the Mk6 is as I want it...and I tinker with the Mk3.

BTW, a Mk5 or Mk6 GTI is a vastly better drive than a S3...but I miss the traction of quattro/4-Motion!

Yes but why a Mk3? I mean I'm biased and chose a Mk3 over a Mk2 due to aircon and ABS.
But everybody says a Mk2 is easier to go fast in as it handles better!

I like the Mk3 Golf...I think it's still the prettiest.
I've had two...and when I had the 8v, the Anniversary was announced and I wanted one. I couldn't afford it, so my Dad bought one, and I bought it off him a few years later.

Interga Type-R, S3, 911 C4S and Fabia vRS have all come and gone...but the Mk3 16v Anniversary remains.
I suspect it'll still be in my garage once the Mk6 GTI has gone too.
