The Lg is 300 watts as the speakers need 300 watts to work the samsung is 500 watts as thats what the speakers need!!! Stick with the samsung better quality as the speakers are more powerfull

I recently picked up one of these:

http://www.comet.co.uk/p/Blu-ray-Home-Cinema-Systems/buy-PANASONIC-SC-BT222EB-K-Blu-ray-Home-Cinema-System/630276?cm_mmc=Google+Shopping-_-Feed-_-_Blu-ray_Home_Cinema_Systems-_-630276_PANASONIC_SC-BT222EB-K&_$ja=tsid:8360%7Ccc:%7Cprd:SC-BT222EB-K%7Ccat:_Blu-ray_Home_Cinema_Systems

It's a blu-ray rather than DVD but not one of the ridiculously expensive 3D systems

It has 2xOptical ins, I run my PS3 through it and the sound is superb

So far it's been awesome, good thing for me is it's powerful yet compact, small speakers, big sound, and best of all it's a 2.1 system meaning you don't have wires all over your lounge but it gives you the same sensation as surround sound, really clever

Milltek Cat-back exhaust

Eibach 30mm Springs with Boge Shocks
Front and Rear V6 4Motion Valances

Agreed its never gonna be as good.

But for the price (reduced from £250) you get a very good system

Panasonic are hard to beat in the home ent market aswell

True is a good price But as a ex Samsung Engineer I have to say Samsung Are Superior Quality IMO i Know what goes in them and there price for what you get is second to none! But i do agree good price on the Panasonic A good idea for a small living room indeed would be better than having multiple speakers taking up room

I am currently running a Onkyo AV rec. Got it last year from richer sounds price matched at a bargin.

Check there website as they have excellent deals.

Heres a link to mines back in the day. IMO the sound Q is excellend. No offence to samsung users, but I don't think sound equip is there strongest point on the market.

I would stay away from dvd/packaged bluerae packaged systems as its not what your looking for. Used to use my denon amp setup before it fried last year :(

You get some AV recievers now that are wireless for extra connectivity. Auto-calibration systems are very good a not much of an extra cost. I would check Richer Sounds website befor jumping head in first. AVforums have a mountain of info and knowledge to.

Good luck

I got this £200 p/m'd which was a very good deal. Using this in the spare room for the xbox and tunes :)

Hence why we told him at the begining to get amp and speakers!!!! but for his budget an all in 1 would of been better.... That is an entry Level Onkyo Unit Which is ok.... My onkyo AMP was £700 there is different ranges of units within each brand! Samsung may not be the best in sound but for £160 its bloody good! And there is lots of info on AV forums but for under £200 theres not a great deal of wiggle room!!! Not to mention the samsung has some Good features as far as Entertainment As USB which will play any file you chuck at it!

But if your saying the onkyo system is £200 Thats not bad at all if i had the money to choose i would take the Onkyo no doubt about it as i agree amp and speaker setup can not be beaten! but in this price category a lot of all in 1 bluray and dvd systems are good for the buck!   Richer sounds says the onkyo is £300?
