Consoles and home cinema systems
« on: 19 June 2011, 17:21 »
Right, I'm thinking of getting a home cinema system. I urrently have an Xbox 360, PS3 and Virgin HD. What inputs/outputs would be required for me to run this lot on a home cinema system? I only use the PS3 as a Blu Ray player so thought I could possibly replace it with a blu ray that is included in a bundle.

HDMI or Optical Digital is the only way or there is no point! most cheaper systems will only have hdmi and better systems may have 2 HDMI and an optical port Do not buy a cinema system with bluray waste of money as your ps3 is a bluray player save the cash get a  decent amp and speaker setup as most Brands cinema systems arent worth the money! I have had my fair share of systems but i use a Onkyo amp with Bose speakers Unbelievabley better than most brands cinema systems ie sony lg etc!

How much you got to spend?
Id get a av amp (onkyo/denon) and separate 5.1/7.1 speakers
I often wonder why people never expect sarcastic comments from me - they're the only reason I speak...

Not sure how much to spend really, just looking into it at the mo. Would probably be looking at £250 max. Got any links to the amps and speakers you guys have.

How weird this is the one my girlfriends step dad has just got which got me wanting one. So to run the xbox, PS3 and virgin I need 3 inputs of either optical or hdmi?

Nope Your tv has hdmi ports yes as in 3 or 4? You can just run hdmi from tv to cinema system and then the remaining ports on your tv you run to your virgin box and xbox and ps3 so when your using the home cinema you simply set to input1 and i will output whatever is playing on your tv bud :D simples... On the samsung it will come up DINT1 when you select the source button honestly is a piece of piss bud
