Best Mods for Good road handling Please?
« on: 06 April 2005, 21:20 »
Hi all,

Putting my 8v on some Eibach springs is my first step to a better handling car. What do peeps recommend next, Boge Gas Shockers? (Koni to much $) and then Braces? which? upper or lower, front, rear worth bothering with? Poly Bushes?
Don't need a track car, just for road use.

Note, I'm quite happy with a little understeer, dont want it too rear biased, but could do with taking a little of the slopiness out. Thanks.

... it's turned into a fashion show for poofters.

strut braces help as do uprated anti-roll bars but if you don't want to spend out on knoi's you probably wont want to spend £230 odd on ARB's???
team grumpy....... its a way of life, not a forum post

My car came with Boge shocks, it's kinda scary, I was used to front wheel drive cars that understeered, but the Goof just grips and grips and grips, then the rear end starts to move..... I'd swear it was rear wheel drive!

Im going for the whole 9 yards.

KONI coil overs

Polly bushes all round - exept rear

Top Brace, Bottom brace and rear brace

Then most importantly i think, get a 4 wheel allignment done! i.e tracking

Poly bushes(front control arms, rear shock top mounts).Gas shocks with lowered uprated springs,30-40mm is a nice look, but this is personel choice.Eibach anti roll bars(these are a must, come with polly bushes). It will drive nice in a straight line depending on spring rates and go round corners like it`s on rails.
