I dont think you will find a good tuner who will want to push the T3/04E (T34) on stock rods.   I did one a few weeks back and limited the power to around 14psi 300bhp and kept rev limiter at, once the customer fitted the rods  and lower comp pistons we mapped it to 404bhp

Have you a 3" maf?   If so then you can use an MBC to hold around 7-8psi and be safe until you get the rods sorted.

it has a 3inch maf , and yes thats my brothers mk4 golf black one ? . the standard rods and pistons are good for 350bhp according to jabba sport , i'd be happy with figures around 300bhp if thats possible can i usea manual boost controller ?

350bhp is where rods bend and snap,  With the MBC its all down to how good the external turbo waste control is, I have been tuning external wastegate since 2004 when I was tuning vauxhalls, and they are right gits to setup with just an MBC. An MBC cannot control the blowby can cause the boost occilate bad.  You need to be running an EBC which you can dial in boost and duty cycle to get a steady boost line.

I would be happy to tune your setup to around 300-315bhp on stock rods like we did with James.

Nick

I think your right to keep it and at the very least drive the car finished.

I'd be taking it to R-Tech for that remap as 1.8t's modified like this seem very much his thing
