Just put diesel in
« on: 17 June 2011, 09:23 »
Lot going on so accidently put 25 quid worth of diesel in my digi 8v from pretty empty.
Am i likely to have ducked fuel pump now aswell as having to drain the tank?
What are the chances of putting loads of unleaded in it working?
Know it ll smoke but whats new.

Have you driven it?
If it not get the tank drained.

Will be fine if you have not started it, drain the tank and replace the filter.

Stick a GTD badge on it. It'll be fine.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

Syphon as much as you can out of the tank, (take the fuel gauge sender out of the tank) fill it to the brim with petrol, should be ok.
Its a lot worse if you put petrol in diesel car

diesel is an oil so she will prob smoke a little
