Help.... leak on my fuse box....

Hi all,

I've have small leak that drips on to my fuse box which needs sorting ASAP.

I've checked all the places that are commonly mentioned. The rubber grommets under the plastic sheeting under the bonnet seem fine they look new, I don't think its the heater matrix due to the leak is on the far right hand side, it drips onto the right hand side of the fuse box then onto the plastic which you can see to the right hand side of the accelerator pedal.

I can't think where else the water would get in, has any1 experienced this...

Any help would be great..

Had a very similar leak on one of my 8v's a few years back it turned out it was coming from the blanking plate which is fitted over the hole where the air intake for the cabin heater would be on a left-hand drive model. The sealant had dried up round it so I just ran a new line of silicone sealer round it and job done.
You don't say what mk your car is??? Mine was a mk2.

yeah thanks for that, my car is a MK2, right hand drive.

Commonly comes in via the bonnet release grommet, just smear a ton of grease round it.  Also make sure the drain holes either end of the scuttle tray arnt blocked, and in the mean time put a plastic bag over the fusebox to stop the water getting in it

I checked the windows seal and guess what, underneath the seal on the front window in the right hand side rust has started to grow which as caused a small hole, i'm guessing this is the cause of the leak. 

Gonna have to get this sorted before it gets worse..
