xbox 360 & Sky Player
« on: 13 June 2011, 14:37 »
Anyone using it?

I don't have Sky, but you can pay £15 to use Sky Player or £1 to 'rent' a movie etc from it and just wondering what the score is? How well does it buffer the content, and you replay the movie after you've watched it? is there a time limit to watch/rewatch movies?

I have it and use it, but i am a sky customer anyway.

No idea about the costing side, but connection wise I've never had any problems buffering as long as your not got a download program running. (bittorrent etc)

I think SD but on a HDTV, but to me, they look sharp enough.

Yes you could. She should have a sky ID, you need that and her password for it. Easy as anything to set up and you only need to do it once.
BTW you do need a gold account on xbox to use it.

They are barely standard def either they are scaled down a lot to avoid lag and buffering issues! but some folk might not notice but compared to even std sky its crap maybe on a smaller screen its diff but on the 55 its gash i tested it a few times in comparison to the hd and std doesnt even compare!

For movies I just rent stuff off xbox live in HD which is pretty good picture wise. I also rent stuff from iTunes and stream to my telly from my laptop but iTunes HD is only 720p.
