GTI and golf R MPG

Hi guys,

What MPG do you lot get from your MK6 GTis and Golf Rs?

MPG 2 on your fuel computer would be fine or do any others of you out there keep more detailed records?

Also type of drive and driving style would be useful.

Depending on how I drive my MPG 1 (used to record mpg per tank) can vary from 28 mpg to 42 mpg.

My MPG 2 (used to average over a period of months) sits quite steadily at 34 mpg.

Never calculated in real life so can't comment on how accurate the display is.

Mine is sitting at 34.6mpg over the last 2300 miles.

That JohnnyG has got to be an accountant to be that boring anal about keeping MPG records ffs, you don't buy an R for thirty odd grand and worry about fuel mileage surely.  :nerd:

Doc, motorway driving gives me about 32-35 mpg depending on the number of hills (and I don't drive super fast, and tend to look further ahead than the end of my bonnet)
Town driving gives me mid twenties and A road driving gives me mid to high thirties.

Wanna swap cars?  :grin: (I'm keeping the wheels!)  :evil:

I'm not worried about mpg ... it's more for business purposes  :wink:

BTW the MFD display (MPG2) seems to be pretty accurate and only slightly higher than above.

My average is 22.4 or is it 24.2? No it is 22.4. Delighted!
