Fuel Smell?

I have a distinct smell of fuel when the fans are on or the sunroof open, after i had an engine change i thought i mat go away but it's still there? Would it be

worth changing the fuel lines?

have a good old look around the fuel hoses in the engine bay. I had a little leak on a fuel line, and i mean little, but it was enough to make the car stinky. look for a little greasy wetness on the lines, maybe try some fine dusk / chalk on them to see of you can find it, just an idea!

especially where the rubber pipes come up from under the brake servo, they can rub on the suspension turret and the plastic tubes they go into can also split

chris8valve, I also have this problem, posted an earlier thread on the subject. I am none the wiser, no sign of a leak from the fuel lines, etc. I am planning to change the fuel filler cap as that is where a very strong fuel smell comes from, very noticeable in warm weather when standing at that side of the car. Do you have a similar strong smell from your filler flap? The smell is worse in the rear of the car so that may be a problem area for me.

I also have this problem and as yet have not found the reason, my smell comes from the engine bay,. I am planning to change the

injector seals this weekend

I had a fuel leak, well a fuel gush! it was a split fuel line on the pump under the car. Will take 2 secs to stick y head under and have a look for drips.

Get the back of the car up in the iar if you can, and check all around the seam in the petrol tank, and the fuel sender unit which is kinda between the tank and the wheel.
