A good honest garage for your standard VW needs. Don't know what they are like with modifying but if you have something wrong with your VW and need it sorted give them a try. They also have a parts shop as well. There have been a number of occasions where I've taken my car in expecting a huge bill and I've been pleasantly surprised.
Also, if you have a carb under your hood, give Joe McCarthy a try, you'll find him in the yellow pages. He's based in Grangetown, Cardiff and is wonderful with carbs.
