Vegetable oil as tyre shine
« on: 10 June 2011, 14:59 »
Hey guys,

Fed up of paying £5-6 a can of tyre shine, and a mate told me that using vegetable oil on your tyres does the same thing and lasts longer.

Anyone else done this, or is he crazy?

Heard of baby oil on brushed steel or aluminium and its awsome, but not veg oil.  :undecided:

Stinky wheels don't bother me, but don't want anything that would eat through tyres  :undecided:

the £1 stuff doesnt stay on for long though, ive always used simoniz back to black, never had a problem with it, except despite my tyres stay black, they are quick greasy if you touch them

was told engine oil works, cant say ive tried it though

megs is better but youre paying for the duration of life (sp?) of the product imo

thats also now available as the orginal gel form were you need the pad to apply it, or a spray or an aerosol, but still quite pricey
