Seat strip down

Going to start stripping the back rest of my drivers seat tonight to repair snapped tilt cable, anyone know of any do's and donts or in fact the best way to do this?????

In my experience all I can say is that it is very fiddly, involves getting scraped, scratched, hands, sometimes even blood and demands a lot of patience.
Saying that, I'll be stripping mine down soon to remove the leather seat covers and put them on some better seats.........so it must be worth the hassle.
The seat base is much easier than the seat back.

I thought as much, ive done beetle seats before and they have nasty little claw type clips that slice hands beter than any kitchen knife!!! Il let you know how I get on!!

Its one of those jobs that is always fun to do, At least your not seperating the back from the base as thats a pain in the arse.

I would just say use long nose pliers to open up those little c ring clips and do the bit you lean back against first as this lifts up and reveals lots more of those little clips.
