This is my current project. I am going for OEM as much as possible.

So a little history and its current state! I swapped this mk2, for a bumper for a slipt screen van! It was not great but i saw the potential. No pics of when i first got it unfortunatly.

It needed and got the following all in one go!

Engine - bottom end knocking due to lack of oil. Got one for free  It got a full head rebuild before fitting
Clutch - seamed silly not too
Cambelt
Brakes - All round inculding rear calipers
Suspension - Shocks, springs and top mounts
4 Lamp grill
Exhaust back box

I used it for 18 months as my daily, then decided it was time for a repaint! Got a doner car same year colour and spec for £100. Result. I ended up with good panels where my mine werent.

So at the moment its in my workshop waiting to be finished stripping and some welding before it goes to the bodyshop. I will post pics of its current state soon.

Cheers Mike

I'm liking this motor pal.
Have you lowered it a touch?

This looks pretty cool, the silver steelies work really well with the stock body work and small bumpers.

Yeah lowered a bit, not sure how much was a new set of springs from a mate who didnt know what they were, and lucky for me it worked out perfect.

Nice to see a standard mk2 :afro:

Not a big bumper fan, they look good on the right car. Love the retro small bumpers.

So time for much needed update!! These next pictures show my MK2 in its current state!!

The strip down for the repaint is well underway as you can see. My initial plan was a quick strip and repaint, it has now been going on for 18 months! Work and lots of can you justs have got in the way. Been trying to get back on it recently.

So the areas of rust i found were actullay alot better than i thought, especially considering its now the grand old age of 25!
