Trying to find a specific tyre
« on: 06 June 2011, 23:40 »
Oks i currently have DIAMONDBACK 225/45/17 94V on my Golf well on three corners anyway IMP they have been great tyres they were great when we had that heavy down fall of snow very grippy in the rain/ice etc so would like to stick with them plus they have a nice chunky tyre patten so look nice lol and they were cheap around £50-60 per tyre and i am going to be needed two new tyres for my MOT next month but i can seam to find them anywhere i found them last year no problem  on line but now there ever not in stock or just off the sites.

Anyone know where i can get some from as i have looked all over the net and had no luck.

To be fair I can see where he's coming from...

I have Kleber Hydraxers on mine, they came on my wheels and they are largely unheard of but not cheap tyres, but despite them not being that well known, they are (to me) better than Eagle F1's and Dunlop SP Sports I had before. Bit soft sidewalls but grippy and good in the wet.

Sometimes it's better the devil you know :)

because the DIAMONDBACK IMP are Good tyres plus i am pushing a huge 90bhp  if not less with the age of the car so not like its sporty also i ve driven my bothers old mk4  gt TDi130 and he had expensive branded tyres [cant rember which] they gripped the same as the DIAMONDBACKs but wear'd faster so i am very happy with them so would like to stick with them.

Thats my train of thinking, in all the bad wether we have had snow, ice, very heavy down falls of rain they haven't mist a beat in the snow and ice i was well impressed so i would love to keep with these . . .but i cant find them lol

I hear ya. You tried camskill.co.uk, mytyres.co.uk, blackcircles.co.uk, ears motorsport on ebay, googled 'em?

My tyres have a specific sidewall shape, so thats another reason I try to stick to them as they are like / rather than | lol so I think thats a nice design feature, but they've never let me down once for grip, really impressed, made by michellin apparently... but 70 odd quid a pop in 225/45/17!

oks been told the DIMONDBACKS the company also do a tyre called triangle which from what i can see are the same tyre. around £40-50 per tyre. if i cant get the Dimondbacks i think ill try the Triangle as if there as good as the dimondbacks ill be happy and at the price i cant complain.
