CV joint removal(quick reply needed)

Im currently replacing the CV joint gaitor on my mk3 1.4

I cant get the actual joint apart from the driveshaft, is there a clip? as i cant see one or does it just need a wack?

a wack lol dont need to take any clips off except the gaitor clips oviosly lol

ah yes came off with a good wack  tried it earlier but didnt want to hit it too hard without knowing how it comes off

now i've broken the clips that hold the gaitor on, hopefully cable ties will hold it alright
