had a nice little surprize this morning,got a text from my insurance co telling me to check my email,so i did as my insurance is up for renewal at the end of the month,old car honda accord 20ils £440 golf renewal £1471 now im 49 clean licence 4years no claims wtf ???

+1 they take the piss if you stay with them for to long

Yep, shop around but insurance costs have rocketed over the last few months.

am dreading my renewal i already pay £175 a month thats fully comp for me and the missis but i have 9points  :sad:

jeez, i was only paying £35 a month fully comp a year ago when i had 12 points.

jeez, i was only paying £35 a month fully comp a year ago when i had 12 points.

I thought 12 points = a ban?

Depends on circumstances.. I've known of people who got 12 points, went to court and pleaded that without their car they would loose their business or job etc... so have been given the points, massive fines and court fee's but allowed to drive with the knowledge that if they get in trouble again while the points are still in affect they could face worse punishment, longer ban than what they could have had originally etc.

Tell me about it ... 44 years old, 9 years NCB - last year £377, this year £604!!  Phoned them up and haggled it down to £537, still changing companies though.
