My Mapping Story/ Review Golf 1.8T AUM 150 - Carbon Chiptuning

Basically I had a map done by Jason at MORE-BHP about 3 weeks ago the map was ok there was a power increase but something seemed to be missing I had a hesitation at around 3200rpm which I posted in the ECU tuning section.

I received a PM from the The Doc from Carbon Chiptuning advising me of what they do and there service's, so I booked in for a consultation and pre Dyno.

I met Craig & Nick ( TOP GUY'S ) yesterday at there workshop in Altringham I have to say they have a very very nice & professional set up indeed  they got to work to do the pre Dyno in no time at all, Both Nick & Craig set to work on my car going through everything with a fine tooth comb making sure everything was in order before they set to work on her, got to say Nick and Craig clearly knew what they where doing and they are the VAG GOD'S

My car on the first run made 178hp and then 180hp which was ok (DYNO PRINT TO FOLLOW), Craig & Nick advised me that from the results there was allot of room for improvement, so they downloaded the current map on my car to have a good look through it ready for my next visit next Friday.  The only part I was advised on to be replaced was the N75 Valve.  Big sorry :embarassed: to Craig & Nick that I had to rush off after the pre Dyno run but I couldn't miss my sons Sports Day again as the Mrs would have me on the chopping board

MORE TO FOLLOW............

I have just bought a mk4 golf gti 1.8t with the AUM engine, year 2000, and one of the previous owners had it remapped (though i dont know what to) and i have found it hesitating at 3000 - 4000 revs, sounds similar to what was up with yours.

Do you think its worth a visit to carbon chiptuning? what are their prices like?

Cheers,

Gabriel

IF being the operative word AS WE DIDN'T SAY THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE MAP - we just said we'd like STU to take the PEPSI challenge with our map and a new N75 valve

AND we'll take the PEPSI challenge with anyone who feels the map they have is anything other than 100% perfection
