8 valve off the road again

so the 8 valve is off the road again, driving home and one of the petrol tank straps snaped.
i knew they were looking rough but didnt realise they were quite that bad.

my local vw is saying 18 squid each plus brackets and bolts on top shame there is noware to mount a rubber strap would have been a lot cheaper     :angry: :angry: :angry: :angry: :angry: :angry: :angry: :angry: :angry: :angry: :angry: :angry:

A rubber strap wouldn't hold the weight of a full tank + bumps + age. £18 each from VW is actually not that expensive.

i know its not that bad was just anoying got lots of other bits that i need to get done and the bank took a right kicking over run to the sun  :tongue:

You must get your priorities in order though...  no point tarting up your car only to find it uses the whole of the garages fuel to fill up the tank  :laugh:

hahaha I'm bad for this. looking at new coilovers, wheels, exhaust manifolds, engine parts, and it aint even got a mot and needs new disc's, wheel bearings etc.

yeah for sure there arriving morra so they say so will fit them then have had a good look around the car to and might be spending a small fortune before mot in november
