from all the reviews I've read the ipad is a good bet if you're not technically minded and don't want to mess about with it.

Pros for the ipad:
great customer support
good support from developers as it is currently the market leader
widest rang of apps available
the "trendy" choice
easy to use experience and similar to the iphone/ipod touch (if you have one of those already)
build quality
good battery life
lots of accessories
powerful enough to play 720p movies

Cons for the ipad:
the "trendy" choice
expensive compared to Android tablets
can only purchase apps that are on itunes

if you can live with the limitations of Apple and itunes then the ipad is the one to go for.

and not forgetting it's no replacement for a PC/Laptop as you need a PC/Laptop to sync with and set it up in the first place.

Where as Android tablets you don't need to sync with a PC/Laptop as all the important bits get sync'd to Google's servers then sync'd down to your web browser IE/FF with Google's add-on's or Chrome does it automagically without add-ons. For any other files that you need to sync with your PC/Laptop there is Dropbox, or you can just plug it into your PC/Laptop and sync it.

Android is not just for geeks

Want some online storage? Click here to sign up for a Dropbox account.

But for the purest engine experience, displacement has no replacement. All other methods are simply attempts to artificially recreate the benefits of displacement.

Ipads are for Barleys.
80% of your posts are total tripe, as they are mostly replies to sh1te posts created by the morons that, unfortunately this forum attracts.

Ok, so bought "what laptop" guide to tablets magazine today, and am reading and re-reading and the only ones that come fairly close to the ipad are either not out yet or run windows 7. I am also going to the states in a few weeks so if I am going to get on I will probably get it whilst I am out there, unless anyone knows any reason not to (wifi only)?

Wifi only is the best option if you've got a phone that'll tether up.
